General Difference Amplifier

Vout=V1(R3R1)+V2(R4R2+R4)(R1+R3R1)V_{out} = -V_1 \left( \frac{R_3}{R_1} \right) + V_2 \left( \frac{R_4}{R_2 + R_4} \right) \left( \frac{R_1 + R_3}{R_1} \right)

Balanced Configuration (R₁ = R₂ and R₃ = R₄)

Vout=R3R1(V2V1)V_{out} = \frac{R_3}{R_1} (V_2 - V_1)

Variables:

• V₁ = Voltage at inverting input (through R₁)

• V₂ = Voltage at non-inverting input (through R₂)

• R₁ = Input resistor for V₁ (to inverting input)

• R₂ = Input resistor for V₂ (to non-inverting input)

• R₃ = Feedback resistor (from output to inverting input)

• R₄ = Resistor from non-inverting input to ground
